ABOUT TREVOR

Mr. Walsten is one of the founders of the law firm of Walsten Te Slaa, P.A. Providing business and litigation counsel since 1980 to a varied and challenging group of clients, including Fortune 500 corporations, insurers, public entities and individuals, involving Federal and multi-State trial experience that is comprehensive, and a transactional practice that concentrates on organizing, financing and selling or acquiring business organizations. His areas of trial experience includes corporate and shareholder rights, franchise and product distribution disputes, employment and civil rights law, real estate and land use law, environmental and construction law, and wrongful death matters. His transactional practice concentrates on organizing, financing, and selling or acquiring business organizations.

Mr. Walsten holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota, summa cum laude, and received a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 1980. Having completed his mediation and arbitration training, he was certified by the Minnesota Supreme Court as a qualified neutral and was listed on the State Court Mediation and Arbitration Rosters. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association Mediator and Arbitrator Panels, and is a past member of its Advisory Committee for Mediators. Mr. Walsten was listed in “Who’s Who in ADR” published by Minnesota’s Journal of Law and Politics in 1995.

He was admitted to practice law in both Federal and Minnesota courts in 1980. His professional memberships included the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association and the Minnesota and Hennepin County Bar Associations. He is a past member of the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, the Minnesota Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, and he has served on the Women in the Law Committee. In 1995, he completed his second term as co-chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Ramsey County Bar Association.

Mr. Walsten has been a continuing legal education presenter on topics including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Act.
